“Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with the mockers.
But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night.
They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all that they do.”
– Psalm 1:1-3 –
“When I imagine the trees in this passage, I don’t imagine small, flimsy trees that are young and weak. What I see are these huge, massive trees, similar to the California Redwoods. These trees I imagine are deeply rooted, and are what a representation of how I believe God wants us to be. Trees that are planted next to a river have constant source of life flowing from said river, and are continually bearing fruit. In the same way, if we “plant” ourselves near the the Lord, we will not only bear fruit in all seasons, but we will find ourselves deeply rooted in Him and His Word.”
